Celebrate Independence Day in Green Bay

Fire Over the Fox – Downtown Green Bay

If you want to celebrate our nation’s independence with the coolest fireworks display possible, the annual Fire Over the Fox event is the way to go. Beginning at noon, this festival offers free entertainment, food, and one of the best fireworks displays in Northeastern Wisconsin. Current information isn’t up at time of posting, but you can get an idea of the festivities at the Fire Over the Fox website here.

Celebrate the 4th – Heritage Hill

From 10 a.m. to 4:30 pm, families can celebrate the holiday with pieces of our nation’s history, like a watermelon eating contest, a U.S. trivia competition, or listening to Uncle Sam read the Declaration of Independence. Because the 4th falls on a Monday this year there might be slight changes to the schedule, but the event should still happen. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for kids. Learn more here.

Independence Day – Green Bay Botanical Garden

The flowers of the Botanical Garden are in full bloom, and admission is free all day for military personnel and veterans. Cost for non-veterans is $9 for adults, $7 for students, and $5 for children ages 3-12. The garden is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Learn more here.

Green Bay Bullfrogs – Joannes Stadium

One fun way to celebrate American tradition on the 4th of July is to take the family out for a ball game at Joannes Stadium and watch our local collegiate summer baseball team. The Green Bay Bullfrogs will be playing the Kenosha Kingfish starting at 3:05 p.m. Cost is between $7 and $28 depending on the seat, though a standard ticket is just $8. Learn more and buy tickets here.
