Android Auto (along with Apple CarPlay) have already been available on multiple Chevy models, but the lineup with this convenient technology has just radically expanded thanks to a new software update announced by General Motors and Chevrolet. What Vehicles Can Get the Chevy Android Auto Update?

Both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility came standard in 2016 Chevy models with the seven-inch MyLink infotainment system, but eight-inch models only featured Apple CarPlay. Now, most of those models may be equipped with both systems thanks to this easy upgrade.

“We are working with our dealers to make the software update as quick and easy as possible to minimize any inconvenience to our owners,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet, in a recent press release.

Models which are now eligible for the upgrade include: Chevy Impala, Chevy Volt, Chevy Camaro (and Camaro Convertible), Chevy Corvette (and Corvette Convertible), Chevy Colorado, Chevy Silverado (and Silverado HD), Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, and Chevy Malibu (but NOT Malibu Limited models). Where Can I Get the Chevy Android Auto Update?

Unfortunately, unlike the 2015 Hyundai Sonata update we’ve posted about before, individuals will not be able to add this update themselves.
