Each year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) creates an Automotive Trends Report that recognizes fuel economy and CO2 emissions leaders in the auto industry. The Hyundai brand has improved real-world fuel economy and lowered harmful greenhouse emissions each year from 2017 – 2022 and in the latest 2023 Automotive Trends Report, the Hyundai brand was second only to the all-electric Tesla lineup. In the last five years, Hyundai has raised its real-world fuel economy from 28.6 MPG to 29.1 MPG.
